Wellmore of Tega Cay (Wellmore), a premier healthcare retirement community, is pleased to announce that its new, state-of-the-art skilled nursing building is now open and accepting residents.
With the addition of skilled care services, Wellmore now provides the full continuum of care under one roof. The retirement community, which opened in June 2015, already offers assisted living, short-term rehab and memory care.
“Moving your mom or dad when more care is needed can be a stressful and guilt-filled experience,” said Executive Director David Dunn. “With the opening of skilled nursing at Wellmore, your mom or dad never has to move again. You can make one decision and we will do the rest.”
The 18,886 square foot skilled nursing building includes 24 furnished studio apartments with private bathrooms, 24/7 care with daily oversight by a registered nurse and on-call medical director, 24-hour emergency call system, restaurant-style meals prepared daily in an open-concept kitchen, housekeeping, laundry and linen service.
Dunn describes Wellmore’s approach to skilled nursing as “distinctly different.” He adds, “We don’t warehouse people; we celebrate them. In fact, people are often surprised that our skilled nursing is a nursing home because it doesn’t look, smell, taste or feel like any nursing home they’ve ever visited.”
Residents enjoy a curated selection of wellness activities designed to meet their needs and encourage family participation. Residents also have full access to the community’s clubhouse, which offers a $3 million wellness center, rehab services and an on-site salon and spa.
