The Supernova Award is the highest individual honor that our company gives and each year. One individual on the leadership team at Wellmore of Lexington is voted by their colleagues as the community’s Supernova based on an assortment of criteria. Each year during the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting, the winner is revealed and given a customized crystal award at the company’s formal Supernova Awards Evening. Additionally, this individual will consistently deliver excellent customer service (to Members, families, and colleagues), lead positively with integrity, take accountability, put the team before themselves, and embody the company’s vision to create communities where people live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

What’s a quote or inspirational words that influence/impact you?
“If you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.” – Will Smith
Congratulations on being chosen as a Supernova! How do you feel?
I feel grateful. I’m sure everyone says this, but I wasn’t expecting to win the Supernova Award. I show up everyday and give my work my best effort because that’s what I am supposed to do but it feels good to know that my team notices my hard work, believes in me and feels that I am deserving of this award.
What’s your favorite part about your position?
I love building relationships with people and in my role I have an opportunity to do that every single day, whether it be with our team members or residents. I’m able to make a difference by being an advocate, a mentor or simply just being a listening ear, and that brings me great joy.
What do you want people to know about working in a retirement community?
Working in a retirement community is extremely rewarding. Some of us work in direct care roles while others serve in support roles but regardless, we all contribute to enhancing the quality of life that our seniors deserve to experience in their latter years of life. Also, seniors are so intriguing. They are so full of wisdom and they love sharing what they know and what they have experienced every chance they get.
Positions that are eligible to vote and win the Supernova Award include: HR Director, Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, Care Services Administrator, Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Resident Care Director, Lifestyle Advisor, Lifestyle Advisor – Care Services, Move-In Coordinator, Social Director, Activity Director, Wellness Director, Director of Facility Services, Director of Dining Services, Executive Chef, Client Services Manager (Live Long Well Care).
