Top 5 Events of 2023
As 2023 ends, it is the perfect time to look back and remember all the fabulous and fun events at Wellmore of Daniel Island. Our team pushed the boundaries to create unique experiences for our Members. The dedicated Social and Wellness Directors created detailed, packed calendars that provided our Members with plenty of adventures! From sensational Signature Experiences to hoppin’ happy hours to exciting excursions and so much more, this year was one for the record books, making it difficult to narrow down our top events.
Get ready to count down our top five events for this year:
5. Chef Dinner Experiences
The culinary team at Wellmore hosts monthly Chef’s Table Dining Experiences for Members to dine on an exclusive four-course menu utilizing freshly procured market fare and individualized wine pairings.
4. Bootleggers Ball
Welcome to the speakeasy! No snitches allowed. Wellmore transformed into the 1920s prohibition decade for a Bootlegger’s Ball Signature Experience. Their clubhouse was covered in newspapers to ensure their festivities weren’t busted while they were sipping on French 75s.
3. Five Year Anniversary
Wellmore of Daniel Island celebrated five years of serving the local Charleston area. In conjunction with National Senior Health and Fitness Day, the games were on. From fierce competition at the carnival games and a chance to take on a rodeo shark, it was a thrilling time for all who attended.
2. Active Aging Week
During Active Aging Week®, Wellmore explored Charleston and the great outdoors.
- At Charleston Planthouse, Members tested their green thumbs as they learned tips on making their favorite indoor plants thrive.
- With their favorite drink in tow, Members let the power of Mother Nature guide their brushes as they had an outdoor painting class.
- Members hopped on a trolley for a tour around Magnolia Plantation.
- Sunrise yoga on Sullivan’s Island for the beach bums and Tai Chi for their Zen masters.
- All aboard! As they toured the harbor, the sea breeze flowed through their hair on The Daniel Island Ferry.
- A community Walk to End Alzheimer’s, where they raised $1,500, pushing them over their goal of $10,000 for 2023.
1. Mary Poppin’s Signature Experience
“Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, in the most delightful way!” The magic that comes from exploring the world of magic and endless dreams is what comes along with a High Tea Experience. Wellmore transformed into a delightful high tea fit for the most noble Members. From the dainty decor to the delicious tea with plenty of sugar to the arrival of Mary Poppins herself, the magic of Disney arrived at Wellmore.
And just like that, this year is ending, and we are ready to start another fantastic year full of fabulous events. We can’t wait to see what this year holds and how it will surpass this year’s events!
