Erica Peterson Ford, our Wellness Director.

Erica has found her home within Senior Living Communities, working within three different properties, mastering her field and seeing how SLC fulfills its promise of investing in their Team Members, always. With the Members at the Forefront of her mind, she is able to curate a wellness program that is accessible for each of our Members.

What is your position at Wellmore of Daniel Island?

The Wellness Director!

How long have you been at Wellmore of Daniel Island?

One year and five months!

How did you find this position? FB, LinkedIn, Word of Mouth?

I began my journey with Senior Living Communities when I volunteered at the Lakes at Litchfield my Junior year of college with the Wellness Department while obtaining my bachelor’s degree. I then obtained the position as the Wellness Associate at Brightwater for 2 ½ years, working under the guidance & leadership of Wellness Director, Susan Parrotta. The position at Wellmore came open in 2017 and I applied for the position and now blessed to be the Wellness Director at Wellmore of Daniel Island.

What kept you motivated during job searches?

My dad has always taught me to remember that I am an investment and to work hard to achieve my goals. I always keep the bigger picture in mind. It’s important to remember that there is something significant to learn in each season of life or in a job. Never forget what you are doing now can be a stepping stone to help you get to a better tomorrow.

What excited you about this position and this company?

I appreciate how this position allows me to use my degree, talents and passions to enrich the lives of our members through health & wellness. I am thankful that this company invest in their staff! They have helped some of my largest dreams come alive!

What is your favorite thing about working for Senior Living Communities?

The way they invest in their staff! I am gaining such wonderful leadership experience through this company that I will continue to build upon throughout my career.

Describe a time that a Member had a positive impact on your day?

This happens truly every single day! They each impact my life in such a special and specific way. I get the opportunity every day to motivate them to live a healthier lifestyle & to focus on positivity and joy! To see their perseverance and endurance as they get up each morning and fight through the ailments or pains that they may have and still come to a wellness program, that is a blessing to see!!!

Have you utilized the Elevate program? If not, do you know someone who has?

Yes! I have obtained 6 wellness/therapy certifications since being employed. This program is so amazing in being that they will cover a specific portion of your program to allow you to go back to school!

How have you grown professionally and personally since joining the Team?

I have been blessed with the opportunity to grow in a director level position and to be sharpened as an individual. I will continually keep what I have learned with me throughout my career field!
